Cheese

For those that know me, you know that I'm not the cheese's biggest fan. I'm very picky when it comes to cheese. I am now an adult, and my culinary tastes are broadning, but I'm still picky when it comes to cheese. I still only like sharp cheddar, and prefer my cheese crispy, but I am incorporating other cheeses into my fold (provolone, monterey pepper jack etc...) Well tonight I made my version of Alfredo Mac & Cheese-with sausage. It turned out so yummy!
I watch alot of Food Network. Food Network has taught me many new things. Watching how things are made makes me want to try things I would never have tried before-like asparagus & artichokes. When I learned that alfredo sauce was just a parmesan cheese cream sauce, I decided to make some of my own. When I made it for dinner a couple of weeks ago, James & I talked about how we could use this sauce and do Mac & Cheese. Well today was the big day, and I think that my Baked Mac & Cheese w/Sausage turned out so well, it might become a family staple and be ranked with other Clegg classics as Spam & Egg Casserole and Chicken Caesar Salad Sandwiches.
I really enjoy cooking. I no longer have to rely on Hamburger Helper or Prego. I now know how to make: a rue, cream sauce, gravy, pesto, rice, marinara sauce, tomatoe soup, stew, rolls, bread, lemon merigue pie, pie crusts, sweet & sour sauce and so many other things. Now, not everythings perfect (like my indian spiced tomatoe soup-James didn't like it, and I mention James because he'll pretty much eat anything) but I am making the effort.
