Ok, Really?

Ok, so yesterday we noticed that we had a green tag hanging on our front door. It ended up being a tag from Weber County Animal Services, stating that they tried to contact us to inform us that it is unlawful for an animal to habitual growl, yelp, or bark if it disturbs a person or the neighborhood. The time stated on the paper said 3:10pm.

Yesterday, around 3pm, Mesha started barking. It wasn't a normal bark, it was a bark that made me get up and ask, "what's wrong girl?" Well now I know why, somebody was sneaking around the property, and Mesha was just trying to tell me. I never heard the doorbell ring, but Mesha knew that they're was somebody around.

Now I don't know of any dog that doesn't bark. Wouldn't that be a wonderful thing. But my dog does not continually bark. She will bark when the doorbell rings (which is rarely-the doorbell ringing), but she'll stop when I tell her too. She'll bark when skateboarders go past the house, but that's only if she's upstairs. When she's outside, she'll bark when people walking go past the house, what dog doesn't. Now I can understand how it could bother anyone else if your house was connected to another house, but we live in a real house with yards and roads separating us from everyone else. You would have to be pretty close, like up against the house to hear Mesha barking from inside. So if my dog is inside and stays downstairs, how does her occasional barks hurt anybody?

Well in the end, Mesha gets to stay, she's our guard dog, and so far she's good at that.
