So it didn't look like it was going to be a productive Saturday because it started raining this morning, but sure enough the rain stopped and by 11am the sun was out. We then took a trip down to valley nursey and bought plants. We bought our first grape plant-which is in the back-a couple of cold weather veggies, a honeysickle plant, and a couple of flowering plants-I don't remember the names. After we had lunch, James & I went to work on prepping the parking strip. We laid down the weed mat, dumped huge rocks down, planted our plants, and later on tonight we put the mulch down.

When we were buying the mulch, I guess we should have measured first. Thinking that 10 bags would cover the parking strips and the flower bed up against the house, we quickly realized that that wasn't going to happen. We came up ONE bag short on the parking strip, and we don't know if we'll buy more to do the flower bed. When you look at the house from across the street, I think that the house looks good, except for the pink siding, but what can you do about that.

One of the things James wanted to try this year was this honeysickle plant. It should in the coming months intertwine itself with the lampost producing fragrant smelling flowers. We also planted some other pretty flowers that I forgot the names of but looked really pretty in the pictures.
