Halloween Weekend 2009

What a weekend! If we play our cards rights and not overindulge ourselves, we should have enough candy to last through the rest of the year, maybe into the next. We started out the weekend by going to my parent's ward's (or as I like to call my "home" ward) Trunk-or-Treat. It quite the fun activity complete with chili, games, candy, donuts and hot chocolate. While we were waiting for some people to go through the dinner line, the boys starting asking James if they "could go over and see him?" I was a little bit confused thinking, "who do the boys know so well in the ward?" I looked over and saw Scott standing in line as the boys rushed to tackle him. Scott is a kid in our ward that the boys absolutely adore. Great kid. He was there with one of his friends-small world. So this is Scott if you've ever heard us talking about him.
Our Halloween tradition continued this year by going over to my parents house for pizza and trick-or-treating the neighborhood. Again this year we got Tyler's girls, and it was so fun to have Sonja go around with us. Jaxson was Spiderman, Jordan Wolverine, Sonja Tinkerbell, and Bryn was a lion. Sonja was my buddy for most of the time, " Nae, Nae" was her response to get me to hold her hand and help her to the houses. Jordan led the way, and was tall enough this year (for the most part) to reach the doorbells, letting us parents not have to go up to every single house. I think 95% of the time last night was enjoyable (we did have a couple of meltdowns over glowsticks and pumpkins).

I wanted to take a picture with my hubby, and this is the face he gave me. He said it was because it was Halloween.
James told me he was so glad for the stroller I had gotten a couple of months ago. We decided to get one of those sit & stand strollers, which totally came into use last night during long streches of non-candy houses. Oh yeah, isn't there a universal rule, if you have your lights on your giving candy? A couple of houses must not have received that memo. It would have been fine, except the houses in Riverdale have large and many steps up to the door which make little ones extra tired and weary. So if your not home, keep the lights off please.
James, the boys and I were out trick-or-treating for 3 hours. I paid for that later that night after we got the boys to bed. I was so sore, all that walking and standing is not the best for an 8 month pregger mom. I am so glad for our jetted tub-love it, love it, love it (and tylenol).
