Fiber

So I've been told lately (mostly at church) that I've lost a lot of weight. Not really, but I'll take their compliments. I then get the question, "What are you doing?" Honestly, my workouts have slowed down....a lot. It seems with the summer & being sort of "off" schedule has made workouts non-existent. But I do have a secret weapon in helping me keep my weight the same (I haven't gained-so that makes me happy) and it's called fiber.
Before, I used to eat breakfast concentrating more on the calories-less was better. Now I choose to eat cereals with more grams of fiber. Having this different approach keeps me full throughout the morning, not needing to snack on anything.
If I do get "snacky" during the afternoon though, and if I have them in the house, I choose this to eat:
It's like a big granola bar, and they really do taste good-because if they didn't, I wouldn't eat them.
I like to mix my cereals. The one cereal that I mix with everything is Grape Nuts. I know it's kind of bland, but it works in keeping me full. It's also great to add to yogurt when I don't have granola around.
The other two cereals that I like to mix & eat are the Kashi GOLEAN cereals:

I also choose to buy whole wheat bread and when I'm making/baking I try to incorporate whole wheat flour as well. Apples are another good choice, and in this Clegg household, we eat a lot of apples. I eat an apple a day, and my kids will share an apple as well for lunch.
Eating every meal (not skipping) and drinking water have also helped me in keeping healthy, and once the heat dies down & school starts, I'm pretty sure that exercising will enter back into my routine heavily.
