So I found out tonight (courtesy of my Mom working the fair) that the loaf of bread I entered into the State Fair, didn't ribbon. My bread was nice & round, tasted spectacular, and the texture was just right. So why wouldn't one of my lovely loafs not win????
Because the top of the loaf was too brown. Bah Humbug to you judges. Too Brown??? It is wheat bread, I mean when you go to the stores and buy wheat bread, the tops are not white, not beige, but brown. I've been denied again. At least the entry fee was only 50 cents.

But in the end I was too lazy to buy the stuff & matte it onto a cardboard back. Plus the entry fee was $3..for a amateur.
Oh well. The cobbler that I had for dessert earlier can count as my pity party.
