Today we made our annual trip to the Utah State Fair-free thanks to my Momma that's working there yet again. Today we were lucky enough to also take my niece Sonja along for the festivities. All three older kids were constanly asking/excited to see the animals. The kids got to see the animals & I got to walk around and see everyone else's creativity & skill. Here are some pics from the day:
Jaxson & Madison outside the building. We were waiting for the others; thought I would snap a picture.
Jordan, Jaxson & Sonja in front of the butter scrupture. Every year, they have a scrupture made completely out of butter.
Jaxson kept wanting to stick his fingers up his nose (eww gross), and I love Sonja's expression (she looks so much like her daddy).
Sonja, Jordan & Jaxson
Jordan kept track of Sonja throughout the park by holding onto her.
Cute Madison
Grandma treated the older kids to a ride on the ponies. They loved it! You could hear Jaxson saying, "Yee-Haw" the entire time.
After a fun pony ride, we headed over to the animal buildings. Jaxson (I swear) had to touch every single animal he came across (except for the cows, didn't want a crushed Jaxs).
After animals, we headed over to this cool exhibit called, "Little Hands on the Farm". It's put on by the FFA, and you basically go through the process of growing & harvesting your own food. At the end, you get money for your crops & get to go to the store and buy a treat. I stayed out with Madi (because they didn't alow strollers, and well I wanted my purse to be safe & I didn't feel like lugging that around with a 16 lb baby) while James & Grandma took the other kids.
We ended our day at the fair by watching the sea lion show. It didn't have the best seating, so I think the kids got kinda bored after awhile. Oh well.
The kids looking at the sea lions before the show started. This was probably the most they saw of the animals.
Jaxson & Sonja-cute cousins!
And that was our day/afternoon. Thanks for tuning in!
