My Geeky Night

Months ago {maybe 6 or 7 or even 8}my sister-in-law Kris told me to check out this website.  The Pioneer Woman.  She made delicious food & took gorgeous photos & had this intriguing life out on a ranch somewhere in the midwest.  I was hooked.  I love reading her blog, and I enjoy making her recipes.

Well, when her new book {Black Heels to Tractor Wheels} was coming out & she posted that she was going to come to SLC, I immedietely got on to see how I could go to the book signing.

Tonight was the book signing, and I had such a fun/exciting night.  I asked my friend Tiffany to go with me & be "geeky" and oh gosh was it fun.  I was so nervous....but that nervous/excitement was because I was meeting a celebrity.  It was so neat to hear her answer questions & then actually go up and talk to her.

We got lucky & were one of the first ones to get our book signed {all thanks to my drive down to SLC tuesday morning}.  This let us get out of there at around 7pm, and let us go get something eat before returning to our kids.

Tiffany decided to take me to the Old Spaghetti Factory in Trolley Square {because I had never been there}.  What a cute little restaurant & yummy food.  Since it was just the too of us, I think they set us at a smaller table {instead of a booth}.  Well, this was no ordinary table with chairs; they had these royal red wingback chairs to sit in.  It made it very comfy to sit and eat.  It was fun to sit & chat & eat.

It was such a fun night, and I'm grateful that my brother-in-law {Dave} came over to watch my kids.  It sounded like the kids had a fun night with their Uncle D.

Here are some pictures from the night:

This was us before the whole shebang happened.
Oh gosh, it was so weird seeing her in person.  I mean it's weird seeing her on television shows because you get used to just seeing what a person writes.  Does that make any sense??

 The three of us
I think this was me explaining how excited I was to meet her.  I told her how I loved her recipes {and that I had done 2 weeks of recipes}....yep...went into geek mode.
Another pic.  Tiffany & I both brought our own cameras, so we shared whatever we got.
 See the chairs!

The chairs wanted you to be comfy.  Luckily there was nobody behind us, so it was ok to be goofing around.
