This year for Spring Break, I took the kids down to Las Vegas. My parents have a timeshare down there, and had to use up a week, so they had asked a couple of months ago when the kids had there break & booked the week. James wasn't able to make it because he was starting up his weekend shift; and although he had the hours to do it, they're so short staffed, he wouldn't have been able to take it off.
We left Thursday morning, arriving in Vegas 8 hrs later, traveling through the greatest winds I've ever encountered. My kids were fantastic on the drive down. This was the first time that I've taken them anywhere {well, far for that matter} by myself. The kids watched movies & slept...it made this Momma happy.
We didn't do anything too exciting Thursday night. My parents had tickets to a show, so after they left we went exploring and found a Wal-Mart. That's how we roll. We ended up getting some Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream and a Redbox movie. I then took the kids home & filled up the jacuzzi tub & let the boys go "swimming" {because the weather wasn't the greatest}.
Friday, with my Mom & Dad, we went to the Las Vegas Natural History Museam. Michelle & Derek arrived when we were almost done with the tour, so we actually got to see the Museam twice {wanted to make sure we got our money's worth}.
Jordan being a bear
Madison loved looking at the fishes.....she is her Father's daughter.
They had this tank with some sharks & sting rays; the kids loved it.
Oh No! The sharks gonna get me!
The dinos made sounds when buttons were pushed.
Jax-Attack
Michelle wanted a picture with the Zebra because she's weird like that.
After the museam, I let the boys go swimming because they'd been begging to go. Luckily, Grandpa & Derek wanted to swim as well so I didn't have to go into the pool {considering maybe it was in the lower sixties outside}.
Jordan loved jumping into the pool....which was perfectly fine with me because he had arm floaties on.
After swimming, we dried ourselves off & headed over to Kevin & Heather's house for Pizza & a Movie. Kevin's got such a wonderful family & it was so much fun hanging out with the cousins.
Kylee wanted to show off her mad violin skills; what a talented 5 yr old!

Derek, Michelle & Jordan
I don't think Emily made it though the movie.
Although shy at first, Jordan quickly warmed up & enjoyed playing around with Kylee.
It's too bad that Kevin & Heather don't live closer because I think these too could be really good friends :)
That's Part One; stay tuned for Part 2 & 3
