Whewwww....

Here is a recap of my weekend & all the special moments that happened.

 FRIDAY

3am:  I woke up in a sweat and immediately headed to the bathroom and puked up what I had for dinner.

Oh crap.  This can not be happening to me.  I am suppose to go to Boise tonight.  I cannot be sick.

6am:  Again, I woke up in a sweat and headed to the bathroom.  Apparently, I did not get everything out the first time.

7am:  James comes home {because he had ridden his bike to work} and informed me that he had puked at work & that Jordan had as well.

Great.  My kid is sick.  James is sick.  I am totally drained.  But I get up, only to find out that Madison had puked as well.

Can you see where this day is going......

It was such a hard day.  Here I was, planning on leaving to go to Boise and my family is sick.  Gah, my heartstrings were pulling.

Thankfully, I have some of the best parents {and sister}.  My Dad & Michelle had already had this gunk earlier in the week {and from whom we probably got it from}, so I think it was reason why my Mom was so ok with helping me out this weekend.  I really cannot put into words how thankful I am for her help.  For her coming and rescuing me by taking Madi {who was totally fine the rest of the day}; to taking care of my kids this weekend so I could go and play.  That goes for my Dad as well.  He's such a good Grandpa.

I pretty much took it easy all day, and made it to Boise without puking in Bill's car {to which he was very thankful for}.

SATURDAY

I woke up feeling 100% better.  I knew I would.  Or maybe I told myself that I would, because it would be no fun to see WICKED feeling like you're going to puke through the entire performance.

I stayed with Kris at her house, and it was nice hanging out with her this weekend.  As Dave took a run around the river trail, Kris, Suzanne & I had a nice stroll.  Good weather & pretty scenery made it for a nice walk.

After getting ready for the day, and Paul & Sam arriving, we headed out to brunch & then a tour of Kris's new house.  Jealous, is all I got to say.  So neat.  So great for her.  I think I would get totally lost in all the decisions you have to make when building a house.

The afternoon brought the performance we had all been waiting for.  It was really good.  It was hard though, because I was trying to pay attention to one thing, but there were so many things going on {from the actors to the scenery}; I was trying to take the musical all in at once.  It was so enjoyable hearing the music, and seeing the story.  I knew that WICKED was about the Wicked Witch of the West before the Wizard of Oz, but didn't realize that the story continued through the end of the Wizard of Oz.  Good, Good times.

We then headed over to a Basque restaurant, a cuisine that I've never tried before {but heard plenty from Paul & Sam}.  The atmosphere made it with all the family around.  I would say that most of the food was enjoyable.  I really enjoyed the appetizers but was kinda disappointed with my main dish; but in the end, I stuffed my face and figured that it was probably ok that I didn't eat anything the day before because I made up for it that night.

Paul & Godzilla
Our Appetizers: Croquettes.  Very delicious.
The mashed potatoes were probably the best potatoes I've ever had.  The meatballs on the other hand....the meatballs I buy in the frozen section at the store tasted better.  The sauce was good though.

SUNDAY

Kris made the Pioneer Woman's Baked French Toast.  Delicious.  Kris made one with blueberries & one without.  Both were great.  And luckily since we ate later, my tummy had digested enough room to have said deliciousness.

I then drove home with Dave and Suzanne, and of course it felt like forever.  I was missing James.  I was missing the kids.  I was anxious to see how everyone was doing.

I walked in the door to a very happy Jaxson, and an equally happy Madison, and an even more happy Jordan.  Kisses upon Kisses upon Kisses were given to these kiddos.  It was so great to know that they loved me.  That they had missed me.

Oh yeah, I kissed James too.

James made a wonderful dinner.  Really really good.

The kids then gave my a present, which was not needed because going to see the play was my present.  I was very suprised to find a beautiful necklace; a necklace that I had seen in the ads and mentioned, "ohhhh, that's pretty".  What a good husband I have-that sneaky little devil.

We then ended our night, curled up on the couch as a family, watching "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" on the Wii.  Really.  What more could a Mom asked for.

YAY! So glad you were able to go. When I started reading your post and there was puke I just about cried (Puke does that to me every time, but with all you had at stake...). I'm glad you enjoyed the show. I can't wait till I can see it someday. I LOVE the music, I'd suggest you DON'T read the book that the show was based on. :) Hooray for an awesome Mothers Day
