Clegg Crawfish Boil 2012

So I'm posting the events over the last weekend a little out of order.  I'm starting with Saturday because that's the pictures that I have edited.  But here's the preface to the weekend: Friday afternoon we headed out to Paul & Sam's in Heber.  The boys left to go camping & fishing at Strawberry Reservoir in hopes of catching plenty of crawfish for us to eat the next day.  Paul & James stayed up all night to catch those critters...but boy was it worth it!

The boys came back to the house earlier than we thought Saturday morning.  But Uncle Paul bought donuts for everyone, and the kids chowed down.  The cousins were able to occupy themselves, and let the Daddies get some sleep.  For some reason, Paul & James would not exit the main family room where all the commotion was going on to catch some shut-eye.  But that's ok, James was protecting himself from all the hooligans.

After a couple of hours of shut-eye, we proceeded to prepare for the feast ahead.  First we had to clean all the crawfish that the boys had caught.

Not bad.

The little kids were fascinated with the live little critters.

I have to say....Jordan was the only kid who wasn't completly afraid of the crawfish.

While Moose might have been a little hesitant to hold the critter, he had no qualms in eating them.  But then again, this kid is a Seafood junkie!

Avery's favorite part, if I remember right, was poking the eyes out & finding the heart & eating it.  Some kid was doing that, and I'm pretty sure it was him.

Jaxson seemed to be a little bit better at holding them...I had to go look back at our pictures from last year.

We cooked up the crawfish a little bit different than how it was done in the South, but the outcome was still deliciousness!

We made up two pots : One Hot, and One Mild.  Phil loved the corn cooked in the seasoned water.  I agree with him.

After chowing down till our tummies were full, we cleaned up & then headed home.  We've decided that we need to make this a yearly thing :)
