Why one should wear Sunscreen....

Backtracking to our California vacation, on Thursday during that week, we headed to the Beach.  How could we not go to California & not hit the beach.  We packed up everything that we would possibly need.

It was a great day.  It was nice & warm on the beach & the water felt good after you got use to it.  The one thing we failed to do was reapply sunscreen (and I completely forgot my legs).  Every single one of us (except my Dad) got burned.  Jaxson & Michelle got the brunt of it though.

Poor Jaxson.  We've definetly have realized that he's very faired skinned; poor kid's shoulders blistered up.

This is what it looked like the next night (Friday).

And this is what it looked like Saturday afternoon:

Saturday morning, Jaxson woke up in pain.  Wailing pain.  The kind of pain that makes you cringe as a parent because there is nothing you can do.  We did get Jaxson to lay in the tub with some cold water to help with the burn; that seemed to help.  We were also lucky to have so many worthy Priesthood holders (James, my Dad, Derek & Paul).  They all gathered around Jaxson in the tub & gave him a blessing.  After the blessing, Jaxson seemed to handle the pain a lot better.  Jordan, Madison & I went out later that afternoon & picked up a video game for him to help him feel better.

For the rest of the trip, we had to make sure that nobody touched his shoulders.  And on Sunday, those blisters finally popped!

Since this incident, Jaxson now wears lots of Sunscreen & a t-shirt....we don't want to make that mistake again.

That makes my stomach roll a bit! Holy cow that's quite the sunburn. Hope California was still a great time regardless.
