Our Fourth this year was pretty quiet & low key. We started out our day with the Riverdale Parade. Thankfully, I went and put out our chairs & a blanket the day before, because there was a lot of people that showed up. I packed up some breakfast: fresh homemade banana muffins, juice, fruit & yogurt.
Once the parade started, I don't think the kids sat down again. They were chasing after candy & otterpops for the next hour.
The kids thought that seeing Spiderman was pretty cool.
We spent the rest of the day keeping it pretty low key. It was hot outside, so we were totally lazy & played games & watched tv. That night for dinner, we made Brats, grilled corn, grilled zucchini, and grilled brussell sprouts. It was fantastic.
Once the sun went down, we decided to check out Rohmer Park (which overlooks Riverdale) & the fireworks action. It was such a great view....there were like 10 shows going on at the same time.
After Riverdale City was done with their firework show, we headed home & put the kids to bed and ourselves.
