We had a fun, quiet, Christmas Eve. We got to go watch "Night at the Museum 3" with Grandma & Grandpa Nelson as part of our Annual Nelson movie. It was cute and the kids really enjoyed it. We did learn though that Elise is not quite ready for movie theaters yet. Luckily we sat closer to the front, and James & I took turns watching her (if she wasn't sitting with Grandpa or Grandma).
We continued our tradition of watching Christmas movies and eating pizza. I was even a nice Mommy and let the kids have a picnic in the front room. The kids also took the opportunity to decorate a cookie for Santa.
Can I tell you something....We didn't really do a lot of Santa related activities this year. Santa was brought up, but he was not a focus.
This past November, we took the entire month and talked about Gratitude & started keeping a gratitude journal. We continued this throughout December as well. We also had an activity of talking about the different Prophecies foretelling the Birth, Life & Death of Jesus. It was a fantastic way to keep the month of December about the birth of Jesus Christ.
After movies & pizza, we watched the Nativity Story (produced by the Church), and then we all sang each other's favorite Christmas songs out of the Primary & Hymn books.
I'm so grateful for my family & the Christmas season.
