Office/Guest Bedroom

I'm catching up on my blogging. So while we've been doing the bathroom downstairs, I've been working on the spare bedroom upstairs. The bedroom was something that I could do by myself, while it took two people to work on the bathroom.

This bedroom was the boys old bedroom, and will now be our office/guest bedroom. The only final detail is buying carpet, which hopefully will be soon.
The first thing that I had to do first was prime the window and baseboard mouldings. The previous owners decided to paint them blue-just like in the other bedroom, but green. I also put some primer on the walls just for safe measure.
I then divided the walls in half, painting the bottom green and the top this sorta beige/brown color. Then with the help of a compressor (one the coolest toys in the world) James & I nailed the chairrail down.We decided to break-up the whiteness of the windows by painting the chairrail and baseboards brown. I had originally wanted the room to be brown and green, but we decided that a chocolate brown color and dark green would make the room too dark.

One of the things that I wanted to do in this bedroom was make valance boxes for the two windows-I had seen them done on tv. They were super easy to make, and I love them.
