Cupcakes

So my Mom called yesterday afternoon asking me if I would make up some cupcakes for Sonja for her little family birthday party we were going to have. I agreed, hearing the medicine kicked in my Mom's voice. I didn't have any cake mix or frosting, so I decided to be "Betty Crocker" and make everything from scratch. The cupcakes did not turn out so well. Out of the 22 that I made, 8 made it through. Don't get me wrong, the cake turned out very good, just the tops of most of the cupcakes came off. So in an attempt to savage all that cake, I crumbled the cake into a big mixing bowl, added some frosting, and combined everything together. I then scooped out little cake balls, and frosted some of them with frosting, and dusted the rest with powdered sugar (Thank You Good Things Utah for the idea!). In the end, everything turned out ok and Sonja Jane had cake for her birthday.
