So I bought me some new shoes today, to help me in my motivation of running a 5K in 17 days. I don't know how I'll be able to run 3 miles, I'm lucky to be able to run 1 mile. And with that, I've only been able to run at home on the treadmill, I've barely run outside. I am motivated though, thanks to my Sister & Brother-in-Law.
I've never liked or have done well running. I was also able to sprint to the bases or run around while playing sports, but when it came to running the mile in gym-I dreaded it. I'm only liking it more because it's helping in my weight loss goals; I am slowing losing my baby weight (slowly is the key term).
You would think with all my cooking experience, I would know not to touch a hot pan. Apparently I have not learned that lesson. I made chicken-pot-pies in my ramikens last night and while taking a ramiken of the baking sheet, my arm touched the pan. The burn stung all night; couldn't even wear my watch for the rest of the day. This burn matches the nice curling iron burn I gave myself on my hand about 2 weeks ago.
Ahh, big brothers. When you need to have someone entertain the babe, turn to the older brothers. I don't remember what I was needing to do, but I asked Jordan to push Madie around & keep her entertained. He's good like that.

I know what you mean about wanting to run, but hating it. You really should read the book Born to Run by Chris MacDougall. I promise it will not only motivate you, but change your whole outlook on running. It's very entertaining and has a lot of great information that will grab your attention. Let me know how the training goes!
