Black & Blue Cobbler

So I made a spur of the moment decision. James said, "We need to eat those blackberries quickly." And I replied, "Oh, they'll get eaten, trust me." In pops an idea, " Why don't I just make a cobbler. I'll use the blackberries that we've picked & the blueberries I've got in the fridge." Shabam! I quickly ran downstairs to the computer to find the Pioneer Womens cobbler recipe (because it's good, and the quiche was almost done so I had to act quickly in order to not heat up my house even more than it could), grabbed all the ingredients, mixed it up, poured everything into a pan, and stuck it in the oven. And hour later I was eating delicious cobbler & leftover homemade ice cream at my parents house (because we had to pick James' car up).
The cobbler was devoured. We were almost tempted to not leave Michelle any-but we did because I'm a nice sister. James has requested that I make cobbler every night now. Hmmm, probably not.

Black & Blue Cobbler

The "Cobbler" part of the recipe comes from the Pioneer Women-I am not that talented in creating batters & stuff

1 stick of butter-melted
1cup of Milk
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of self-rising flour (I know there's a substitution-you add a certain amount of baking powder to the flour; I just happened to have self-rising flour)
Blackberries & Blueberries (I think I used 2 cups, I just sprinkled the berries around until it looked good and even)
1/4 cup sugar (haha, I almost forgot this part; had to open up the oven and sprinkle it on)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish. I mixed the butter, milk and sugar together first and then added the flour-only because I didn't want to dirty another baking dish. Mix it all up till it's nice & smooth-no lumps. Pour the liquid mixture into the baking dish. Sprinkle the berries on top. Sprinkle sugar on top of everything. Bake for an hour (although mine took 50-ish minutes) or until the cobbler is nice & golden brown-you should be able to smell it. Dish & enjoy.

-as a side note, if you do a good job greasing your pan, the cobbler barely sticks, making clean-up a very happy experience
