Block Walk 2010

For the last 20 years, Jordan's elementary school has been doing this "Block Walk"; a sort of fundraising type carnival raising money for class fieldtrips & activities.  In the previous years, they use to have the students take pledges for laps around the block.  This year they decided to do away with the pledges, but keep everything else & just ask for donations.  We went as a family Wednesday up to the school, having no idea what was in store for us.  First off, it decided to storm on us, so they moved the festivities inside.  Second, so many people, so little room.  But we survived & had a lot of fun-once we figured out what we were doing.
Jordan {well, all of us} walked around "the block" 20 times...2 miles.  Everytime we came back to the beginning, Jordan would have his tag mark {it would later be turned in...I'm guessing to see who attended}.  They also had free popcorn, cotton candy, water bottles w/crystal light packets, and cheerleaders from TH Bell doing face painting.
The boys had a lot of fun, especially when they found friends they could run around with.  Hopefully next year it won't be storming :)
