This morning came too early....but it was worth it. The kiddos & I got up early to head out to Layton to watch Dave finish in the Half-Marathon. Thinking that it might be crazy busy like the Ogden Marathon, I dropped Madi off w/ Grandpa Nelson, so that was I would only have to focus on keeping two kids with me & not have to worry about a stroller. We arrived a little after 8am, and found it....not crazy busy. We were able to find a seat on the bleachers by the finish line, sit down, and eat breakfast. We had enough room that the boys could go back & forth between the bleachers and the road. After Dave crossed the finish line, we were able to find him, because it was not crazy at all. He did a great job running in under 2 hrs {which was his goal} at 1:54:45.

After saying goodbye to Dave, we headed back to the Nelson house to pick up Madi & make our way home so I could shower & make a pumpkin pie {it's Canadian Thanksgiving Dinner tomorrow night}. After lunch, we packed back up again, this time making our way down to SLC to watch Michelle run in the "Night of the Running Dead" 5k. This race was split into two parts: Survivors & Zombies. I think mostly everyone there dressed their part. The boys were a little scared at first at some of the costumes {I think mostly because they had just woken up}, but they later warmed up to the Halloween-ish theme going on. It was fun going down to watch Michelle run & hang out with her afterwards.
Here are some pictures:
