It feels so weird. The kids are in bed on time; I have to look forward to a 6:30 am wake-up call. I've kind of liked this mini-vacation where we haven't had to worry about anything & we had James home. It's been nice. But I guess it's back to the grind for another month until we're off for Christmas break.
Thursday started out fine. I set to work on making 2 pies for the festivities coming forth that day. I decided on a Cranberry-Apple Pie & a Raspberry-Pomegranate Cream Pie. Sounds good right??? They did taste good, but.....my cream pie never set up, so it was just soupy pie {bummer}. And my other pie was ok, it just could have used some cornstarch on the fruit to meld all the juices together.
An hour before we needed to leave, James had taken the boys over to Dave's house to let out the dogs {he was out of town}. Upon driving home, Jordan decided to projectile vomit. Great.....
After cleaning up the car, and getting Jordan to bed, it was time to head over to Phil's house for dinner. We decided that we would leave Jordan home for about 30 minutes so I could run and grab food {because I was hungry} and come back home & stay with the sickly.
This is what my & how I ate my thanksgiving dinner:
I stuck in "Dark Knight" {which was awesome with the surround sound}, and chilled out with my dinner. After a good nap, Jordan came in and watched the movie with me. I made him some plain rice {because he said that he was hungry}, and we spent the afternoon together. James & the other kids had fun, but not much fun without his wife there.
Friday morning, everyone was back to normal. We even got out the Christmas lights. We also got out the decorations & the tree, but those won't go up till maybe tomorrow, or maybe tonight depending on how I'm feeling. I decided this year to not go out "Black Friday" shopping; there just wasn't anything that I knew I could get.
Saturday, My Dad took the boys to the Union Station to see one of the last Steam engines. The kids had fun hanging out with Grandma & Grandpa that day. Because we didn't have two boys, James & I decided to go on a lunch date & do some Christmas shopping. I know that this is the last year that I can take Madi shopping with us without her telling people what we are getting.
And that was our weekend. Not very exciting, but I guess that's just how we roll :)
