Last weekend we decided to break in our new trailer & head out with our friends the Drapers to some property up on Soldier's Summit. After many years of talking about, James & I decided to buy a camping trailer, and we were super excited to give it a try.
We went up on a Thursday & were pretty much to ourselves. Thursday afternoon, we sat down & shot the bb gun & 22's.
Our targets were paper plates & filled soda cans. Shooting a water-filled soda can & watching it explode was pretty fun!
Friday, we packed a picnic & drove over to Scofield Reservoir for some fishing.
Jordan was the only one that caught a fish that day, and he did it all by himself.
We had a super fun time. We hit some bumps along the road though. We found out that Jaxson had strep; it was kind of hard to ignore the fact that his tonsils were huge & we saw huge white patches...so we had to skip out early Saturday so we could head to instacare. Jordan fell off his bed Friday night & scared the crap out of us. Poor kid got a good scrape on his elbow & luckily that was it. We told him what happened the next day & he said that he didn't remember really anything; we figured he was pretty much still asleep. James injured his ankle while chopping wood; his ankle got stuck between a piece of wood & a metal stair. I think I'm the only one who didn't get hurt on this trip.
I loved the fact that I could get up in the middle of the night & pee without freezing my butt off. I also liked the fact that I didn't have to leave my living space to make some hot chocolate in the morning :)
We're excited to go out again in a couple of weeks for the annual Franson Family Reunion.
