Jaxson's Birthday & Our Gender Reveal

For Jaxson's Birthday this year, we decided to do something extra special for him.  Our BIG ultrasound appointment was set for Friday May 31st, two days before Jaxson's Birthday.  So we asked him if one of his presents could be finding out whether he was having a brother or a sister.  He loved the idea, and I decided that no one could know the gender either, so we turned over the precious information to our friends the Kellers.

I left everything to Trista, giving her free reign, and boy did she delivered!  We invited family & some of our close friends over to my Parent's House for dinner & the big reveal.

The Big Present

Everyone could make their guesses...it was pretty even between boy & girl.  I should note that Jaxson wanted a brother, while Jordan & Madison wanted a sister.  James never said what he thought, but I was pretty sure that we were having a boy (based on previous pregnancies).

Someone suggested that Jaxson punched it with his head....didn't quite work.

Inside the big box was another box

This box threw us for a loop, because up popped a blue balloon.....followed by a pink balloon.....tricky, tricky.

Underneath the balloons was the final present, which would reveal whether Jaxson was getting a brother or sister.

We're having a girl!

Madison is getting a Sister

After the big present, we headed out front for our traditional Pinata beating.  Always a fun thing to watch!

After everyone scored some candy, we headed back to the backyard to have cake & sing Happy Birthday. Jaxson asked for a Strawberry cake this year, so I made him a Strawberry cake.  It was super delicious!

It was a fun night hanging out casually with family & friends...the kids kept themselves entertained, as well as the Adults.  My parents happened to have a lot of cotton flying down that day, to which the big boys decided to play with....

We are very excited for this new baby, and I've admitted that it's taking me awhile to wrap my head around having a girl, because I seriously thought I was having a boy.  But after a couple shopping trips & some perusing on Pinterest, I'm excited for this little Girl.  And don't ask us about names, because we have no ideas....none whatsoever.  Good thing we still have some time :)
