Clegg Family 2008 Rewind
2008 brought lots of things for the Clegg family-here's a recap of our adventurous year!
January
We started work on our basement. If any can remember, we had a little cove that produced no purpose and closed off our laundry room space. James tore down the walls, which opened up the space, and with the new found space we would eventually build new walls & put up our storage shelves.

Jaxson started to scoot/crawl, and started to get himself into odd places like underneath Jordan's bed (he was 7 months old).

January also marked the last month that Jordan wore diapers. We started the potty training process, to which he's a pro at now. Hopefully this next year we'll work on cleaning up after ourselves and peeing like a "big" boy (standing up).

With huge amounts of snow gracing our yards, James had the ingenious idea of making a sledding run for Jordan in the front yard. James put a ladder up against the lamppost, and pushed Jordan down the little hill. If we keep getting pounded with snow, we'll have the run again this year.
FebruaryFebruary wasn't as adventurous. Jaxson decided that he needed to get a headstart on his college education by reading a textbook on diseases for Elementary Public Health.
MarchIn March, the snow started to melt away, and we felt it ok to play outside again. We started going outside after Church on Sunday to play, ride bikes, and sit and enjoy the sun.

With my birthday in March, I decided that I wanted to throw myself a birthday week for turning 25. I started the week off by going to a taping of GTU (to which I yelled myself crazy), followed by shopping at Ikea, and finishing the week off in Boise with Kris.

While in Boise, we went with Kris to the local zoo, which was throwing a egg hunt for the little kiddos. This was our first trip up to Boise to Kris, and on this trip she introduced us to the "Cheesecake Factory". Although pricey, I've copied the dinner I had there and it's one of our favorites. This trip also found us with two sick boys and Jaxson having his first ear infection.

With Easter around the corner, I took Jordan to the Washington Terrace Easter Egg Hunt. Thinking that it wasn't going to be that cold, I didn't think to dress very warm. It was a little more chilly, but we gritted our teeth and got our eggs.
AprilIn April, I finally gave Jaxson his first mohawk-his hair was finally long enough.

We decided to go to the zoo with Paul & Sam on the first warm weekend of the season-bad idea. It was packed, but we had a blast any ways.
MayMay was the month of graduations. We traveled down to St. George for Michelle's college graduation from SUU. It was fun going down to warmer weather, swimming, and hanging out with Michelle.

A couple of weeks later, Austin graduated from High School. Another round of boring graduate speeches whoo-hoo.

Towards the end of May, James sold the truck-in less than 24 hrs. We sold it on a whim thinking that it would take awhile; but with it sold, we were able to buy the Odyssey.

The Odyssey. It's so hip.
JuneAt the beginning of June was Jaxson's first birthday. We threw his party up in Park City at the Marriot Resort, so we could swim and eat at our hearts content. Jaxson had so much fun that he fell asleep while eating his cake.

It was also during this month that Jordan got his finger infected, thus being able to flip anybody off. Thank you Uncles.

We also went up to Weber State to feed the ducks with Uncle D. The boys had fun throwing in huge pieces of bread for the duckies to eat.

Jaxson had his first haircut. James had to help out by holding him, but we got it done and said goodbye to the somewhat mullet he was starting to grow. Jordan got his hair cut too, but he gets one like every other month, so he was pro at it.
JulyAt the beginning of month the family made the 20 plus hour trip to Branson, Missouri. It was fun hanging out and relaxing. James won the splash contest at the resort, and we had fun visiting family as well. Having the Odyssey was awesome.

July was also a special month for Jordan-he turned 3. We gave him a Ben-10 party, decked out with Ben-10 gear. James made brisket, and I had fun decorating cupcakes.
AugustIn August, we accompanied my Mom to Fresno, California to visit my Rasmussen cousins. Again, the Odyssey was awesome. I enjoyed another week of relaxing, Jordan had fun swimming, and Jaxson tried to play with Colton.

August was also a special month for Sonja-she turned 1. Kris's parents house is decked out for little kids, so Jordan had a blast while Jaxson had an ear infection.
SeptemberFor Labor Day weekend, we headed out to Elko, Nevada to visit Paul and Sam. There's not much to in Elko, so you have to be creative.

It was also during this month that I entered my zucchini bread into the State Fair. Everyone else got a ribbon, except me. I am now determined to enter every bread category next year, in hopes of getting a ribbon.

For Weber States Homecoming Game, we tail-gated at Dave's house, and then walked up to the football stadium. We also met Kayleen for the first time.

James & I took a weekend trip up to Idaho Falls to attend the sealing of our good friends, the Storer Family. Cali and Travis had adopted Gideon, and had waited 6 months for everything to be finalized in order to sealed as an eternal family. It was fun hanging out with them.
OctoberIn October we watched Austin swear into the Marines. He's such a macho man now. He leaves for bootcamp on April 6th.
For Halloween, Jordan was Bumblebee, Jaxson was Batman, and Sonja Jane was a lion. We got loaded with candy, and the boys had such a fun time.
NovemberTo support Dave and his Cougars, Jordan allowed us to shave a Y into the back of his head-I mean he was already going to get a haircut. It didn't work though, and now Allan has a year of gloating.
DecemberWith Christmas just around the corner, the boys and I decorated cookies for Santa and our neighbors. On Christmas Eve, Jordan and I went around to our neighbors, caroled, and gave out cookies. Jordan even made the Bishops wife cried-he was so sweet.

With the snowfall, James took the boys outside and made snowmen. The dogs in the neighborhood now have inanimate objects to bark at.

James also took the boys to the school playground to go sledding. This was Jaxson's first time, and seemed to enjoy it, until he got too cold.

We had a wonderful Christmas. We were blessed. We had a fun time hanging out with family, and eating good food.

This would almost be everything the boys got-yeah there's more. Very, Very grateful.

Now James asked for something sexy for Christmas. Tyler approved.

Now, coming up with the next couple of days. Rich and Shara got married on Saturday, and I was fortunate to be able to go with them Friday night up to the Logan Temple, and to the sealing session on Saturday afternoon in the SLC Temple. It was fun to see more family members, and at the reception, they had the best dessert ever.

We hope this next year will be just has fun.

I love the Gideon's face in that picture. It's hilarious! Looks like a fun year!
What a fun year! Thanks for the recap. We had a lot of fun seeing you at all the family stuff and I'm glad Skeets and Jax finally got to meet. Maybe someday they'll actually play!
