Christmas Cookies & OCD

So tonight was "Make Santa Cookies Night". I made the cookie dough ahead of time last night, so that way it was ready to roll out today. We borrowed cookie cutters from my Mom, and I stocked up on frosting & sprinkles at the commissary last week, so we were set to decorate cookies for ourselves, the neighbors and Santa.
I let each of the boys pick out a cookie cutter, and with my help we made lots of cookies. Now here is where the OCD comes in. I've noticed, especially since getting married and having kids, that I'm starting to get OCD about things. Tonight it happened to kick in and I had to keep telling myself that we were making cookies as a family and it was more of a kid thing. I guess it would have been better if I had had James' help, especially with Jaxson.
After the cookies baked, I put a couple on a plate for Jordan and gave him a knife to frost his cookies with. I explained to Jordan that he could as much frosting as he wanted and any kind of candy we had on the table. The kid went to town. Globs of frosting, and tons of candy later, he was done with his cookies (it's too bad you can't fully comprehend the sugarness of his cookies).
I then spent the next 30-45 minutes frosting & decorating cookies (again me being OCD, I didn't want the mess so I sent the kids to watch T.V.) Jaxson did help me out with the sprinkles once and awhile, but for the most part I had to keep telling him to get out of the frosting. Jaxson did enjoy the fruits of our labor though, scarfing down a cookie with both frosting and sprinkles.
Right before we got jammies on to go to bed, the boys & I had fun taking pictures in their bedroom using the timer on the camera. Jordan thought it was hillarious how I would push the button and make everyone hurry up to sit in place before the flash went off.

Jordan lately has been pulling the cheesy-cheese smiles where he squints his eyes so much, you would never know that he has the most beautiful brown eyes.
