I did what???

*I'll forwarn you that the following pictures are not pretty.  I've never said that I have beautiful legs.*

Monday night, James & I had our weekly soccer game.  Everything was going great.  We were winning, I was keeping up, it was going great.  That is, until I made a run after a ball, took a step with my left leg, and heard a POP!  Seriously....it felt like my knee shifted sideways with subsequent pops.  I immediately fell to the ground, gripping my knee in pain, and crying.  Yes...I'm a big fat baby.

James carried me off the field & laid me on the bench.  Michelle happened to be there to cheer us on that night, and she immediately came down from the stands to help out, throwing her athletic trainer prowless around.  We decided that the best thing to do would be to head to the ER.  The drive to the hospital was horrible.  I was hutched over in pain, holding my knee, and every bump hurt.  I don't know if it matches the drive to the hospital in labor with Jordan, but it was pretty close.

When we got to the hospital, they checked us in, and told us that it was a 2 hour wait.  Holy Crap.  It was horrible.  The triage nurse didn't even bring me Surgeonan ice-pack.  Oh well....after 3 hours in the ER, we found out that the X-rays were clean {meaning all the bones were in the right place}, and that there was probably something wrong.  They sent me home with some Lortab, and we called it a night.

The next day, I luckily got in to see an Orthapaedic Surgeon.  He told me that I possibly had a torn Meniscus, or ACL.  Not much we could do until I get an MRI.  So the MRI is scheduled for Thursday, and I've spent the last couple of days wondering, "What the heck is happening????"

This is what my knee looks like pretty much all the time:

Swollen.  Achy. And I can barely bend it, and I can't straighten it all the way.  I can however walk around without crutches {but with a brace}, just not for very long.  I elevate it, I ice it, I take ibrueprofen, but none of these things have alleviated the swelling.

We scheduled the MRI to be a week out, giving us a week to see how the knee responded to ice & medication.  It's starting to look like we're going to have to have it done :(

I'll keep ya'll updated as soon as we know something :)
