The Classic Race 2012

Aunt Michelle told us that we needed to sign Jordan up for the The Classic Kids 1K Race, especially after how much fun he had during the Sundae Run.  So, last Saturday morning, Grandma & Grandpa Nelson picked Jordan & I up & took us out to Layton for the race (our Green Mystique is out of commission at the moment, hence the need for a ride).  We met up with Aunt Michelle & Uncle Derek (Michelle was running the 5K).  Jordan wasn't really himself that morning, but it was probably the late night before & early morning wake-up.

Michelle ran first, and I'm glad she was easy to spot with her zebra-striped street & pink headband.

Leo the Lion from RSL stopped by to take pictures, hand out wrist bands, and have fun with the crowds.  I had to make Jordan take this picture with him; that's how much of a goofball he was being that morning.

While Michelle was running, we headed over to the booths they had set up.  Ms. Davis County & her court were providing face paintings; Jordan got a black snake.

She was just a wee-bit tired.

After the 5K started coming in & winding down, they had all the kids line up for their race.

But before they could start, they had to do some stretches to warm-up.

And then they were off.

Kind of half way through....don't be fooled; Jordan went back & forth between running & walking.  Again I blame it on his weird attitude he had all morning.  But he had fun & that's what counts.

It was great of the event organizers to give all the kids a medal; Jordan was happy to show it off!

Jordan is sign-up for another kids race at the end of the month; the Zoo run.  It's fun watching him to these kind of sporting events!
