- Tawnya & Shane came into town for a Ski weekend. I was so very lucky to be able to go skiing with Tawnya on Saturday ALL day! I loved it. After years of not going & a knee surgery, I kept it very conservative, but it felt like riding a bike. I kept thinking that I needed to get Jordan up a mountain to do this, because I know that he would love it.

- Superbowl Sunday. We had Grandma & Grandpa Nelson, Aunt Michelle & Uncle Derek, plus Tawnya & Shane over for the game. We had lots of good food, and even though the game didn't quite go our way, we enjoyed each other's company.

- Parent Teacher Conference: The boys are doing so well at school. Jordan is doing really well in reading (reading above his grade level) & math...in fact it wouldn't surprise me if he started doing multiplication before the end of the year (something they don't do till third grade). Jaxson is also doing really well in kindergarten. He's very close to knowing all 44 required sight words for kindergarten. I've been told that he loves to answer questions in class and that his classmates wait to see what he says before they answer. Our little guy is right on track, which is always great to hear, especially with his speech problems-so we're glad that it's not hindering him at all.
-This is Jaxson at his awards assembly...he got 7/7 of the required goals for second quarter-
February 7
- Today was Jaxson's 100 day party. Madison & I went & helped out with the party. They got to do various "100" activities....Jaxson & Madison even helped each other out, which was very cute.
-100 Snack-
-100 sticker activity-
-We had to leave the 100 party early & head over to the library for Jordan's award assembly...Daddy & Josh also snuck in with their police gear to catch it.-
- Our local Chick-fil-a does these themed nights every once in awhile (remember the Mother-Son Date Knight???). I signed James & Madison up because I thought it would be cute & fun. Madison got a mini cow & a rose. Apparently she was super excited to be out with Daddy & talked his head off the entire night.
-I think one of the best things is that they provide free dessert!-
-After dinner, James & Madison got to go for a Limo ride-
February 11
- School Sock Hop. For one of our Family Activities that the PTA wanted to do, we decided on a school dance. It was LOTS of FUN! I loved dancing with the kids. The night was made even better with "Just Dance" videos being played on the screen.
February 14
- Valentine's was lots of fun this year. I was in charge of the Second grade party & had lots of fun with the game. That night for dinner, I made heart-shaped apple pies, spinach & ricotta ravioli and we had sparking juices.
-We played "Cookie Face"....absolutely hilarious. The kids had to get a cookie from their forehead to their mouth, in a minute, without using their hands....I haven't laughed that hard in awhile.
-I also had the kids, in our remaining minutes, draw pictures without looking...it was funny to see them because they all thought that they could draw what I asked them to do...instead it looked like a 2 year old coloring.
-These were the kids Valentine's this year. I bought some Lip whistles from Oriental Trading & attached them to these pictures. We also gave these to Grandparents & Great Grandma. I thought they turned out super cute. I also realized that Jordan is at an age where he doesn't want to give his Mom "kissy" faces.
- Bryn's Birthday Party-February 18
-Bryn turned 4 this year and had her birthday party at the Layton Surf & Swim. A very fun place with a huge wave pool...the boys loved it! Madison got loaned a swim-vest & after that got very confident tromping around in the water. We only made it about 2 hours before the Chlorine started driving us crazy (poor Tyler). We had eaten Pizza at the Pool & then headed back Tyler's house for Cake & presents.
- February 24th....Remember how I said that I had gotten a new calling the beginning of the year? Well, I got switched up again. I got released as a Sunday School teacher & put in the Relief Society as the 2nd Counselor. Holy Cow! Learning Curve! But I'm going to take it one step at a time & do what I'm needed to do.
- To end the month, the stomach bug has hit our house. Madison got it bad & poor little thing has a hard time keeping food down. Now Jaxson has started it....ughh. I'm just hoping that we are good to go by Saturday, because we're going to see Shrek! at Capital Theater.
