Nelson Family Reunion 2013-Day 1

This year was the Nelson Family Reunion, held in Rogers Arkansas.  James & I felt that it was super important to make the trek out there to see family.  We left Monday night at about 8 pm & drove through the night, making it to Arkansas  Tuesday afternoon.  The kids did fantastic...I'm seriously impressed with them.  After some dinner & swimming, we headed over to Grandma's house to visit with Aunt's, Uncle's & cousins & plan out what we were going to do the next day.

Wednesday, we woke up, got ready, and headed over to Grandma's House for the men to demolish a tree.  Grandma had a tree in her front yard that needed to be taken down, so James hopped up into the tree with a saw and worked on taking down a lot of the branches.  Jordan, Jaxson, and Madison were super-big helpers, picking up all the branches and throwing them in the trailer.  After getting most of the branches down, the men went after the trunk with an ax....for some reason, men swinging axes is a funny ordeal.

After lunch, we met up at the bowling alley for some family bowling.  The kids had fun dropping 6 lb balls down the lanes.

After bowling, we did some swimming, and then headed over to the "Party"house for dinner.  That night, we got treated to Popeye's chicken & Root-beer floats.
